Working with
others
The Makaton Charity works with others to raise awareness of the
communication needs of children and adults with learning and
communication difficulties. We work with others to influence change,
share knowledge and work more productively.
Our key partnerships include:
The Makaton Charity is a member of other relevant organisations
including BILD (British Institute of Learning Disabilities) and NCVO
(National Council for Voluntary Organisations). We also sit on BSI
standards, the Intermediaries Board and the research panel of
Communication Matters. Individual members of staff retain professional
affiliations such as the RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language
Therapists), ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary
Organisations), and CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development).
We also work with others to create services and resources that benefit Makaton users: Some of our partners include:
- BBC (including Something Special programme, website and magazine)
- Sing Up
- The National Portrait Gallery
- Locata
- Her Majesty's Court Service
- MyChoicePad
- S4C (Dwylo'r Enfys programme)
We are very experienced at producing high quality products to meet
our beneficiaries' needs and realise that with our limited funds we
cannot do everything on our own. We are always looking for good ideas,
so if you have an idea for a great resource, contact us for a confidential discussion.
