How can you be sure of the standard of the training you receive?
The Makaton Charity holds a register of approved, licensed Tutors, which is updated regularly. Contact The Makaton Charity for an up-to-date list of approved Makaton tutors in your area. Also, as part of your training, you should receive an official participant's manual and certificate of attendance.
Please note that, following these workshops, participants may share the information gained with others who are closely associated with their students. However, in order to train others, you must have attended and passed our Makaton Tutor Training Course.
Note: The Makaton Charity recommends the levels of fees that tutors can charge for the training they offer, but sometimes they have to add on the cost of room hire, travel, participant's manuals, pocket books of signs and symbols and other necessary expenses. The average fee for a day of Makaton training can vary between £50 - £150. Some tutors may be able to offer training for less, or even free, but you need to check with the Makaton tutors in your area.
