Research Information Service

The Makaton Research Information Service was provided by The Makaton Charity between 1980 and 1988 to enable practitioners to be aware of developments in research into sign language, and to help them to apply some of the findings in their treatment of clients, in lectures, in counselling of parents and staff, in running of courses and workshops, and in giving information to colleagues.

It compiles a series of publications which provide an overview and a summary of a wide variety of research.

Full details of the papers are provided for those who wish to read the full copy, together with contact details where known (though many of the contacts have since moved or changed). The Service was compiled and written by Nicola Grove, who at the time was The Makaton Charity's Research Information Officer, and was edited by Margaret Walker.
