A fantastic experience for us all

Mei Yang BourneMichelle Bourne recently adopted Mei Yang, from China. She explains how Makaton has helped:

"Mei Yang was 15 months old when she came home so everything was strange and frightening to her. She would have understood a lot of Chinese, even though she couldn't speak it.

"Learning Makaton, first just watching Something Special and then attending baby signing classes, has helped her to communicate to us her basic needs: food, drink, toothache, nappy etc.

"At 21 months, she is starting to talk but we are still signing all her favourite things. It has been a fantastic experience for us all."
