Makaton Motivators celebrated

Makaton Motivators at The Grange holding up their certificatesThe Grange is a registered charity based in Bookham in Surrey.  They provide a range of services to adults with disabilities including accommodation, training in life and social skills, and opportunities to work.

We were delighted to be invited to visit them last week and take part in their annual awards ceremony to celebrate the work of their Makaton Motivators: clients who use Makaton themselves and champion Makaton throughout the organisation, encouraging others, including all of the staff to use Makaton too!

Nickie Wren, who attended on behalf of The Makaton Charity, said:

“We are delighted to have watched The Grange’s progress and seen how they have developed their use of Makaton across the whole of The Grange, embedding its use across the organisation.  It is clear that it has been a whole team effort, and in no small part from the Makaton Motivators.  It was an honour to present the awards and celebrate the Makaton Motivators hard work and Makaton skills.”
