The Department for Education has recently published the outputs from the Better Communication Research Programme (BCRP).
The research programme ran for three years and was designed to investigate the progress of children with speech, language and communication needs over time. It also looked at the support and interventions that were offered to them and their families.
These reports are the results of a three-year research programme designed to investigate the progress of children with speech, language and communication needs over time; the support and interventions offered to them and the evidence base for them; and the perspectives of parents and children about the outcomes they value.
The Charity has been directly involved in aspects of the BCRP and also through our membership of The Communication Trust. In the coming months we will be telling you about aspects of the reports that are the most relevant to Makaton users, their families and the professionals who work with them. If you would like to contribute to this, please get in touch with us!
