Good communication is essential to support understanding and reduce frustration. Going on trips out can often be problematic for children and adults who have learning and communication difficulties. Often simple tasks such as getting ready and understanding what to take and prepare can be distressing and frustrating, both for the individual and their parents or carers.

Getting there; the Journey

Symbols and signs to support using all the major forms of transportation, including symbols and signs for shorter local trips as well as longer trips by car or train.

Symbols and signs to support understanding of outdoor environments and what Makaton users can expect to see and do while they are there.
