Entry criteria

Potential trainers must first complete the Makaton beginners’ workshop or the Makaton foundation workshop. They must also attend the Makaton signing for babies training.

Content

This two-part course looks at each session of the Makaton signing for babies training with specific focus on the information giving, signing, activities and film clips. Careful consideration is given to the format and presentation of the training and managing the sessions in a fun and lively way.

The course also looks at what it means to be a Makaton signing for babies trainer, including the need for CRB checking.

Qualification

On completion of the course there will be an assessment of participants knowledge of Makaton, signing skills and ability to deliver the Makaton signing for babies training.
