Something Special

The Something Special TV programmes are produced in a simple, repetitive format using Makaton signing and symbols. They encourage children to join in with a variety of activities, songs, dance, role play and games.

The BBC DVDs contain programmes from the TV series, including new ones based on the latest Something Special Out and About series. The new magazine, launched this year, includes photos of Justin and Mr Tumble signing and using Makaton symbols across all the activities, and comes packed with excellent activities to support learning.

Big People, Little People and the Nursery Rhymes DVDs contain vocabulary which is more challenging and uses Makaton symbols to help develop literacy skills.
