Using Makaton for Maths
I am a Makaton Regional Tutor offering training to carers and professionals who work with Makaton users from the whole age range. That role takes up about three weeks of my professional year, the rest of the time I am a speech and language therapist working in paediatrics.

Huddersfield New College has had strong links with Castle Hill School for over five years now, and every year the Travel & Tourism students perform to the children as part of their BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Course using Makaton.

Portesbery School
There is nothing more pleasurable than being able to communicate with a child and for them to be able to communicate back…We promote many forms of communication within our school in order to give the pupils the best chance to “be heard” and for them to understand and be understood.

Old Park School
Old Park School in Dudley relocated to its new building in November 2011. Makaton signage was planned into the build project from an early stage. The vision has been to develop a total communication environment both indoor and outdoor.
