MSB App now on Android
The Makaton Signing for Babies (MSB) app can now be used on Android devices.The app is based on the Makaton Signing for Babies training, it enables quick access to Makaton symbols and signs with video tutorials demonstrating each of the signs.It can also be used by iPod Touch and iPhone users.
No Pens Day Wednesday 2014
No Pens Day Wednesday is all about encouraging early years settings, schools and specialist provisions to put down their pens and to run a day of speaking and listening activities.

Mrs Jean Parratt (1923 – 2014)
It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Mrs Jean Parratt has died. Jean was instrumental in the development of Makaton signing and training and was our first National Signing Advisor.

Dwylo'r Enfys wins BAFTA Cymru
Congratulations to all involved with S4C's Makaton children's programme Dwylo'r Enfys (Rainbow Hands), which is produced by Ceidiog, for winning an award in the Children’s Programme category at the British Academy Cymru Awards 2013.

Lysa Schwartz, CEO of The Makaton Charity, has been appointed to the Programme Board of The Communication Trust. The Programme Board is responsible for the direction and management of The Communication Trust’s strategy and yearly operational plan.

S4C's Makaton children's programme Dwylo'r Enfys has been nominated for a prestigious Rockie Award at the 2013 Banff World Media Festival.Dwylo'r Enfys (Rainbow Hands), which is produced by Ceidiog, has been nominated in the Children Programmes (2+) Non-fiction category.

The Better Communication Research Programme
The Department for Education has recently published the outputs from the Better Communication Research Programme (BCRP).  The research programme ran for three years and was designed to investigate the progress of children with speech, language and communication needs over time.

Children’s television presenter Justin Fletcher, aka Mr Tumble, from CBeebies Something Special programme, has received an Outstanding Achievement Award at the Shine a Light Awards 2012 for helping and supporting children in developing good communication skills.
