Exhibitions and events 2009

We attend exhibitions and conferences so that we can meet people who use Makaton and also those who want to learn more about The Makaton Charity and using Makaton themselves either at home or at work. We are planning attend a number of different events during 2009.

Communication Matters Road Shows

Various dates across the country

The aim of these road shows is to provide people with the opportunity to learn about different communication systems, tools and technology for use by people with communication impairments through a series of mini-master classes.

Down’s Syndrome Conference

21st September 2009, Maidstone

This conference is aimed at parents/carers of children with Down’s syndrome up to the age of two years. The conference aims to improve the understanding of the needs of a child with Down’s syndrome in their early years. Topics will include early development skills, hearing, using Makaton, toileting and preparing for education.

Special Needs London

16th & 17th October 2009, London

This large exhibition is focused on special educational needs with over 150 stands where parents, teachers, SENCOs and support staff can find resources. Come and find us on Stand 30a!
